Oftentimes people are unaware of habits and patterns that are interfering with them living the life they desire.
People tend to repeat behaviours because:
They are familiar and even if they do not have the desired outcome, the outcome is more predictable than doing something new.
These behaviours were learned in childhood and reinforced over time making them more strongly wired in the brain.
These actions may have historically helped with survival and although the behaviours are no longer required for present life they have been practiced over time and are therefore strongly wired in the brain.
People may repeat behaviours that are consistent with unconscious negative beliefs they have about themselves or the world and therefore by repeating actions consistent with these beliefs they are inadvertently reinforcing these beliefs.
In order to stop these patterns, we must repair the wounds that caused them.
I am trained in and offer evidence based individual therapy while maintaining the heart of human connection. My work assists clients to cultivate self-awareness of habitual patterns, compassionate healing of the wounds that created these patterns, and the opportunity to choose different actions moving forward.
